£215.51 | Whisky over £50 | Read more… Described in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2006 as ‘A big, sweet, chunky, gawky, grainlashed but hugely enjoyable blend.’ Pigs Nose is an exceptionally fine five year old blended whisky, created by Richard Patterson, Scotland’s only third generation master blender as a companion for Sheep Dip – for week days but not for the Christmas Cake. [...] Colour: Gold. Tasting notes, undiluted: Nose: Fruity (red berries) with malty notes and a sweet,vanilla edge. Palate: Spicy with charred oak and aniseed. Rich fruitiness – bruised apples and bananas. With water: Nose: Fruity – toffee apples, sweet fudge and spicy/aromatic aromas. Palate: Smoky – charred wood with fruit cake flavours. Body: Smooth & rounded. [...] Colour: Amber. Tasting Notes, undiluted: Nose: Intense fruits – apples, bananas and pears. Slight fragrant/floral note with subtle sherry aromas developing. Palate: Sweet with malty and heather notes. Rich fruit cake flavours with a subtle sherry influence. With water: Nose: Apple skins with some gorse/bracken aromas and a toasted maltiness.
