Bowmore 16 Years Old is a limited edition from a selection of only 39 Oloroso sherry casks. The hand crafting of this exceptional malt started back in 1990: the barley was carefully malted, hand turned and traditionally peat kiln dried at the distillery. After fermentation and slow distillation the spirit was laid down to mature in Bowmore’s famous vaults below sea level. This 1990 vintage compliments the bourbon matured 1989 vintage released in 2005 and demonstrates beautifully the influence of different cask types on Bowmore Single malt. The result is a Bowmore light teak in colour; the aromas are big, rich and complex – dark chocolate, raisins and sweet figs are bound together with that distinctive Bowmore smokiness. On the palate it is warm and delicious, full of rich fruit cake flavours with a slight salty spiciness. The finish is long rich and elegant. scottish whisky

Colour:Straw yellow. Neat: Nose – Citrus fruits (lemons & limes) with hint of honey and pine resin. Peaty malty notes in the background. Palate: Smoky with cereal and malt flavours. Using only the finest peated malted barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach hills, Benromach Traditional is hand made by their experienced distillers, before being matured in hand selected oak casks at the distillery. The pace is a little slower in the heart of Speyside, they take their time, checking each stage by hand, personally ensuring only the highest quality spirit is filled into oak casks that have been carefully selected by hand. And it doesn’t stop there. The casks, full of new whisky, are laid down to mature at the distillery where their experienced distillers regularly check them. The Highland Park 1958 is a very limited edition of 665 bottles of 40 Year Old Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The 1958 is presented in a wooden presentation box which also contains a unique hand-blown, hand engraved Caithness Glass Decanter depicting the stone circle at the Ring of Brodgar on Orkney, with a solid glass stopper featuring the ‘H’ and a specially commissioned hardback book celebrating both Whisky and Orkney. All four items are numbered (e.g. 1 of 665) and Jim Robertson, Highland Park’s previous Distillery Manager, has personally signed each book. Deep orange colour. Sweet tobacco aroma. Scenty.
