Grant’s Sherry Cask Reserve is a blend of the finest Scotch whisky that finishes its maturation in casks which have previously contained Oloroso sherry. They use only first fill sherry casks, which come straight from Spain; young casks that retain all the goodness and fresh sherry wood notes. They have never been used for anything other than maturing sherry. The sherry casks imbue the whisky with a distinctively warm, rich, fruity taste. Medium dry with rich fruitcake and nuts. This 1993 single malt had been matured in ex-Bourbon Casks, and then on the 10th July 2007 it was put into old Pedro Ximinez Casks. Dark, rich brown colour, on the nose aromas of spice, dark chocolate toffee notes and hints of oranges. On the palate it is smooth and balanced with honey, nuts, figs and chocolate with the cereal notes of the 1993 coming through. scottish whisky

Their 18 year old is encased in a smoked brown glass bottle with dual labelling to differentiate it from the younger 12 year old sibling. Its gift tube is seaweed green in colour with a subtle but distinct illustration of Bunnahabhain’s bay on the front. This beautiful golden spirit’s nose releases honeyed nuts and a slightly sea-induced salty tang. Rich toffee and leathery oak aromas can be sensed upon further inspection. The palate is influenced by mellow sherried nuts and shavings of the finest natural oak wood. Colour: Pale gold. Like a sunset over the field of Bannockburn. Nose: In connoisseur speak, it’s sweet and well balanced, with notes of vanilla, pears, possibly violets, some nuts and fresh hay. Taste: A full flavour with a trace of smoke and a body like a supermodel’s (beautiful and light). It’s silky smooth with a slight lemon tartness that counters the rich maltiness and almost chewable grain. Oh, and did we mention it had a body like a supermodel’s? Finish: Warm and balanced with a slight smokiness. Long for such a delicate blend, with malt and toffee really tickling your toungue.
