Trace of oak with spices also evident. Palate: Sherrywood with some root ginger. Some peppery elements combine with a hint of bonfire ash. With water: Nose: Sweet treacle toffees. Sherrywood aromas with rich fruit-cake [...] On the nose it is fragrant with citrus (orange peel), flowers (freesia), spice, and a hint of cream-filled choux pastry. Juicy! Water pulls out more of the weighty malty notes. The palate is a lovely mid-weight in a malt that’s softer than the nose initially suggests. Great momentum in the mouth with cranachan, soft baked [...] Blairmhor 8 year old Scotch whisky is produced from a vatting of up to 20 different single malt whiskies, the majority from the Highland and Speyside regions. It’s a fragrant whisky too with a firm malty foundation, fruit gum drops and caramel. Subtle notes of almond and anise helped keep my interest, as did it’s soft, subtle wood spice finish.
